Georgia Mountain Parkway (Formerly the Appalachian Gateway Trail) ~ This Highway 515 route is a favorite from Atlanta to the Georgia Mountains. The communities along this scenic four-lane offer outdoor activities such as whitewater rafting, tubing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, fishing, camping and boating. Nostalgic towns, seasonal festivals, and an excursion train beckon you from the route for an extended High Country stay.

Russell-Brasstown Scenic Byway (Helen Hiawassee & Blairsville) Georgia’s only National Scenic Byway, this 44 mile drive is one of the most magnificent drives through this part of the country. Try it all four seasons. Each one is prettier then the last.

Southern Highroads Trail ~ A multi-state scenic loop through beautiful rural mountain communities. Visitors will enjoy beautiful scenery, rivers, lakes, National Forests, and quaint small towns with antiques shops and diners. Georgia Wine Highway ~ Explore the beautiful vineyards in Georgia (most of which are located in Northeast Georgia) and taste the many new varieties that are winning awards for superb wines.

Shortline Trail ~ 3-mile paved "Rails to Trails" trail following the Old Tallulah Falls Railroad Bed for hiking and bicycling.

Heartland of the Confederacy ~ Follow two trails in Northeast Georgia, one which focuses on six leaders that shaped the history of Georgia, the South and the United States before, during and after the Civil War. The other trail, Stoneman's Raid, where 85 Confederates captured over 300 prisoners and brought them to the University of Georgia campus.
